Am 10. Juni präsentiert global-woods auf dem Biochar Summit 2026 in Wien fundierte Perspektiven zur Entwicklung von Biochar Carbon Removal. Im Rahmen der Fachsession zur Etablierung globaler Standards erörtern wir den Übergang von Kyoto hin zu modernen Kohlenstoffsenken. Dabei steht die Skalierung hochintegrierter Klimaschutzprojekte sowie die wissenschaftliche Qualitätssicherung im Fokus einer nachhaltigen industriellen Zukunft.

Paraguay setzt mit dem neuen nationalen Register für Klimaschutzprojekte einen wegweisenden Standard für hochintegrierte Carbon Markets. Durch die Registrierung unseres Projekts Forestal Río Aquidabán im staatlichen System sichern wir die Konformität mit Artikel 6 des Pariser Abkommens. Dieser Rahmen bietet Investoren rechtliche Sicherheit sowie eine transparente Grundlage für langfristige Nature-based Solutions und international übertragbare Minderungsleistungen.

Effektives Biodiversity Monitoring erfordert heute mehr als nur technologische Dashboards. Um Biodiversitätsdaten erfolgreich in das Risikomanagement oder die Lieferketten von Unternehmen zu integrieren, bedarf es konkreter operativer Anwendungsfälle. Wir untersuchen gemeinsam mit Partnern aus der Agrar- und Forstwirtschaft, wie messbare ökologische Erkenntnisse die Qualität und Glaubwürdigkeit nachhaltiger Projekte langfristig stärken und fundierte strategische Entscheidungen ermöglichen.

Born in the Grünhof startup community, this cross-sector collaboration advances CO₂ removals, biodiversity protection and long-term benefits for local partners, highlighting scientifically grounded, community-rooted nature-based solutions.

According to the FAO, this year’s theme is “Celebrating forests and economies – celebrating the essential roles of forests in driving economic prosperity.”

In 2025, we went deep on Forestal Río Aquidabán (Paraguay) and shared what we usually only discuss in diligence calls: the on-the-ground work.

In 2026, we’re widening the lens.

Biochar carbon removals and verified reforestation projects underpin Global Woods’ 2025 progress: field teams advanced MRV and community partnerships across Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Uganda and Paraguay, while the TÜV‑Rheinland‑verified Forestal Río Aquidabán issued ~200,000 removal units. Combined with a digital biodiversity monitoring report and Article 6.4 methodology work, these efforts strengthen climate mitigation, biodiversity protection and local resilience.

Biodiversity monitoring at the Forestal Río Aquidabán project in Paraguay documents vulnerable species — anteaters, tapirs, capuchin monkeys and the endangered marsh seedeater — and informs adaptive forest management. Integrating camera traps, acoustic sensors, remote sensing and AI, the project guides habitat measures (e.g., leaving standing deadwood) to strengthen biodiversity while supporting long‑term carbon removals.

Average EU footprints are ~7.1 t CO₂e; intercontinental flights add 2–4 t, so some emissions remain unavoidable. Global Woods’ Forestal Río Aquidabán offers iCR-certified, fully additional, nature-based forest carbon removals with blockchain-backed traceability and real-time verification, enabling transparent CO₂ removals that support climate goals, biodiversity and local communities.
