Global Woods wishes you Happy Holidays! 🚀🌳
As we wrap up an eventful 2025, we would like to thank you for your trust and engagement and for joining us on this journey throughout the year and bring up 5 Global Woods highlights ✨
👣 Field work that matters: Our team spent 112 days on the ground on our projects with our partners in Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Uganda and Paraguay: forest inventories, audit support, and meetings with research institutions and political actors. We experienced great hospitality, heat and mosquitos, but also beautiful species like the Siproeta stelenes butterfly that took some rest on the hand of Friedrich Scherzinger in Jalisco, Mexico 🦋
🤝 Partnerships & ecosystem building: We expanded our network – including MRV collaborations with biometrio.earth and CarbonSpaceTech, new sales partnerships across Switzerland, Germany, the UAE and the UK, and a cooperation with the Weltethos-Institut / Global Ethic Institute on the ethical aspects of the carbon market. We also submitted the first draft of an Article 6.4 A/R methodology to the #UNFCCC, laying groundwork for future trades under the #ParisAgreement and attended key industry events such as the #EuropeanCarbonFarmingSummit in Dublin.
🇵🇾 Milestone in Paraguay: In May 2025, TÜV Rheinland Group verified the carbon sequestration of our #ForestalRíoAquidabán reforestation project that issued ~200.000 emission removal units on the International Carbon Registry (ICR), and certified the contribution of the project to eight of the #SustainableDevelopmentGoals of the United Nations.
📲 Biodiversity monitoring goes digital: We released our first Biodiversity Monitoring Report and are working with leading partners to connect biodiversity data with digital MRV and, ultimately, credit infrastructure – providing transparency to boost biodiversity finance.
🔥 Expanding into biochar CDR in East Africa: We strategically broadened our project portfolio by starting a new #Biochar carbon removal initiative in East Africa, broadening our portfolio into engineered removals, and contributing to soil health and natural ferzilizing.
A huge thank you to our partners, clients, auditors, local teams, and everyone pushing our work forward 🙏💚
We’re excited for what 2026 will bring and look forward to continuing this journey of developing high-impact removal projects.
Enjoy the holidays and see you next year! ✨🚀
