🌿 For Forestal Río Aquidabán https://lnkd.in/egDY4Tc3, this is not just a policy development. It is a concrete step toward embedding our reforestation project in Paraguay’s national climate architecture as the country is making a bold move for high-integrity carbon markets.
With Resolución MADES N.º 47/2026 https://lnkd.in/dT-NPcNP, Paraguay has established a National Registry for Carbon Mitigation Projects – one of the first countries to create a government-backed framework that directly supports Article 6.2 alignment under the Paris Agreement.
For project developers like us, this is a game-changer:
✅ No double-counting – projects can be registered and tracked at the sovereign level.
✅ Legal certainty for long-term carbon credit investments.
✅ A clear pathway toward internationally transferable mitigation outcomes (ITMOs).
We’re proud to have submitted our reforestation project, Forestal Río Aquidabán https://lnkd.in/egDY4Tc3 for registration in Paraguay’s new National Catastro. For companies looking at nature-based carbon removal credits, this matters. High-integrity credits are not created by project design alone, they also depend on the national systems around them.
Visiting the executive team at the Ministerio del Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible de Paraguay, MADES, in Asunción was a reminder of how much momentum is building on the ground here. The people working on this framework are serious, committed, and moving fast.
Paraguay is showing that emerging markets don’t need to wait – they can lead.
