Project Information
We are currently completing a feasibility study for our Tierra Fértil biochar project in South America, with implementation envisaged for 2026. At full operation, the plant will:

Process 5,000 tonnes of agricultural and forest residues per year.

Produce 1,000 tonnes of biochar, sequestering 2,000 tonnes of CO2 annually in a form stable for over 1,000 years.

Enhance 3,500 ha of degraded farmland per year, boosting soil water retention by 20% and increasing crop yields by 12%.

Support 6 permanent local jobs through biomass collection, plant operations, and logistics.

How does Biochar work?
Biomass Collection
Collect agricultural and forestry residues – such as crop stalks, husks, thinning, and pruning waste – and size-reduce them into a uniform feedstock ready for pyrolysis.
Biochar Production
Heat the prepared biomass in a low-oxygen pyrolysis reactor to convert it into stable biochar, preventing carbon from escaping back into the atmosphere.

Mixing
Mix the fresh biochar with organic amendments (compost, manure, etc.) to enhance soil structure, nutrient availability, and long-term carbon retention.
Application and Storage
Incorporate the blended biochar into agricultural soils, where its carbon remains locked away for over 1’000 years, while boosting water retention and fertility.
