KIKONDA REFORESTATION
The Kikonda Forest Project is located in Eastern Africa. Over the last twenty years, more than 8 million trees had been planted, covering an area larger than 10,000 soccer fields. These trees will store over 1,000,000 tons of CO2.
The forests of Kikonda are owned by the local family business Nile Fibreboards (Link) which is committed to manage the land in a sustainable way according to the quality criteria of FSC and GoldStandard.
global-woods international is assisting the project in the promotion and sale of carbon credits.
